OVERVIEW
Located at the split of Washington Street and Harvard Street, Brookline Village was the first significant site of colonial settlement in what is now Brookline. Over time, the village grew to become Brookline’s first major economic center. Now-a-days the shops still abut the homes and family-owned businesses far outnumber chains, giving this area a real urban neighborhood feel.
Green Spaces & Transit in Brookline Village
Full of traditional red brick buildings lining the streets this neighborhood does offer a few reprieves. Linden Park gives passersby a break from Harvard Street’s traffic and Daniel F. Ford Park and Playground gives children a place to run around.
The MBTA’s Green “D” Line runs directly through Brookline Village giving residents easy access to the city.
