OVERVIEW

Sherborn is a small, picturesque town located in Middlesex County within Boston’s MetroWest region. With a population of approximately 4,400 residents, Sherborn offers a quiet, close-knit community and a distinctly rural character that is increasingly rare in Greater Boston.

Located about 18 miles southwest of Boston, Sherborn provides residents with a peaceful suburban lifestyle while remaining within reach of the city and nearby employment centers. The town shares borders with several MetroWest communities including Natick, Framingham, Ashland, Millis, Holliston, Medfield, and Dover.

Sherborn has a long New England history, first settled in 1652 and incorporated in 1674. Today the town maintains its historic charm through preserved homes, traditional town governance, and a strong sense of civic engagement among residents.

Sherborn shares its highly regarded public school system with the neighboring town of Dover through the Dover-Sherborn Regional School District. Students attend Pine Hill School in Sherborn for elementary education before moving on to regional middle and high schools located in Dover.

The Dover-Sherborn district consistently ranks among the top school systems in Massachusetts, known for strong academic performance, small class sizes, and high graduation rates. The district’s reputation for academic excellence is one of the key reasons families are drawn to both Sherborn and Dover.
