Coolidge Corner

Find your Coolidge Corner niche area to explore.

OVERVIEW

Centered on the intersection of Beacon Street and Harvard Street, Coolidge Corner takes its name from the old Coolidge & Brother general store, which once stood on the site of today’s S.S. Pierce building. A mix of classic brownstones, pre-war apartment complexes, and modern residences makes the area more accessible in price compared to other Brookline neighborhoods — yet it still offers all the charm and convenience of city-adjacent living.

Some neighborhoods just work — where your favorite coffee, local shops, restaurants, and green spaces are all within a stroll’s reach. From morning rituals to evening adventures, here’s what makes Coolidge Corner so special.

Culture in Coolidge Corner

Coolidge Corner has deep Jewish roots that shape its character and charm. The neighborhood is home to kosher bakeries, delis, and local favorites, reflecting a rich culinary tradition. The neighborhood is brimming with morning spots to suit every mood. Here you can grab a coffee at Blank Street Coffee and Tatte Bakery & Café, or lean into the heritage and grab a classic bagel, done right, at Kupel’s Bagels. The neighborhood offers everything from casual bites to refined dining. Savor the flavors at Zaftigs Delicatessen, enjoy sushi at Genki Ya, or go for something more casual at The Abbey. No matter where you end up, you’ll never miss.

Beyond the dining scene, the beloved Coolidge Corner Theatre, a historic independent cinema, has been a center for culture since 1933. The Brookline Farmers Market brings seasonal produce, local flowers, and friendly faces to the neighborhood, while Praise Shadows Art Gallery keeps the contemporary art scene vibrant.
