How to Halloween in a 2021 COVID scene | By Rachel Bakish

Another Halloween during the coronavirus pandemic is fast approaching, but even in a 2021 mask-mandated Boston, Halloween week has a lot to offer across the city. There are several parades, concerts, and events going on in the Boston area.

 

Halloween Spooktacular
Downtown Boston | Boston Children’s Museum | Friday 10/29/21 6-9pm

The Museum is celebrating Halloween in a fun and safe way for all ghouls and goblins. Friday October 29, from 6:00PM-9:00PM, join for an after hours experience where the fun and wonder of the Boston Children’s Museum meets trick-or-treating and spooky fun for all! Tickets are required for this Halloween after hours session. Tickets include: Access to the Museum, Trick-or-Treating, 13 Spooky activities and programs to explore and more!

Admission: $30

 

 

USES’s Family Mobilityaunted House
South End | USES | Saturday 10/30/21 & Sunday 10/310/21 6-9pm

All proceeds from this event will support our Food Distribution Program—combating food insecurity for our families and community! On Saturday, October 30, enjoy a craft beer-tasting from these breweries: Aeronaut Brewing Co., Cambridge Brewing Co., Progression Brewing Co., RiverWalk Brewing Co., Sam Adams. Advanced ticket purchase for the craft beer-tasting  is encouraged and can be purchased online here. Tickets can also be purchased onsite night of event. Tickets for the haunted house on Sunday will be available for purchase onsite ONLY.

 

Halloween on the Pier
East Boston | The Tall Ship | Saturday 10/30/21 2-5pm

Enjoy Halloween taking in the Boston Skyline in costume on the East Boston pier. The Kid Friendly Menu, Complimentary Hot Cider & Cocoa makes this venue perfect for family & friends of all ages!  

 

Doggone Halloween Dog Parade
Downtown Crossing | 9 Summer Street | Saturday 10/30/21 7pm

Presented by Downtown Boston BID, this annual event awards great prizes to the Scariest, Cutest and Best Dog & Human Duo as well as Best in Show. Bring your best pups in their Halloween costumes and you will have a wooftastic time. There will be treats for all, and maybe even a few tricks. Get creative with your four legged friend and win big!

 

Halloween in The Gardens
Charlestown | 499 Main Street | Sunday 10/31/21 10-1:30pm

Dress up and visit the Gardens in Charlestown for some Halloween-themed fun! From 10:00 – 1:30, participate in arts & crafts, games, balloon twisters, and photo ops! There also will be pony rides and the famous cake walk for an additional fee! Halloween in the Gardens has something for everyone and there will be plenty of fun activities to entertain even the witches and gouls among us! 

Admission: $10 for children 

 


If you’re over 21 and looking for fun in the South End, start with a drink at the Butcher Shop or Kava to check out the younger generation going HAM on Waltham Street and/or Union Park. Once that is finished, head across the street for the live music scene at the BeeHive.
