COG Agent Jamie Gaines is running the 127th Boston Marathon to support The Vanessa T. Marcotte Foundation!
There’s hardly a tradition in Boston that’s better, and more “Boston” than Patriot’s Day and our marathon in April… I consider it a virtual right of passage to run the Boston Marathon if you’re into running and consider yourself a local. You simply can’t replicate the feeling of “right on Hereford, left on Boylston” anywhere else in the world!
The VTM Foundation empowers women to live boldly and fearlessly with a goal that women and men can live free from objectification and harassment! Vanessa Marcotte was a 27 year old woman taking life by storm working for google and living in NYC. On the morning of 2016 while out for a run outside of Boston, Vanessa was assaulted and killed. There are more than 600 women that are assaulted each day and it’s our time as a community and country to fight back and step up. To support and carry on Vanessa’s love for life and freedom, the Vanessa T. Marcotte foundation was created. The foundation is achieving their goals by partnering with organizations that provide educational programs and mentorship opportunities to promote female empowerment and gender equality in and around Boston.
