OVERVIEW
Nestled on the south shores of the Charles River is the town of Dover. With a population of only about 6,000, Dover is a quiet, tranquil community. Still only 15 miles from Boston, Dover has a more rural feel with open fields and forests throughout the town. Because of this, lots are typically larger relative to its MetroWest neighbors Needham and Wellesley. There are grand old estates and farm houses alongside newer neighborhoods, but either way homes are usually set on at least an acre of land.
RECREATIONAL ATTRACTIONS
Dover offers a variety of attractions that enhance its suburban appeal:
- Noanet Woodlands: Ideal for nature lovers who enjoy peaceful walks, scenic hikes, and exploring quiet forest trails.
- Pegan Hills: Great for adventurers who love hiking, birdwatching, and exploring rugged terrain.
- Powisset Farm: Perfect for families and food lovers who enjoy farm animals, fresh produce, and hands-on seasonal activities.

Dover offers three public schools, and one private school – The Charles River School. Like many of its neighbors in MetroWest, Dover public schools rank highly in the state.
