Known for its blend of suburban charm and urban convenience, Brookline serves as a wonderful transition from urban living to the suburban dream.
Brookline has long been a playground for the wealthy and well-connected, attracting business leaders, renowned academics, and professional athletes who appreciate its privacy, prestige, and proximity to Boston. Brookline’s Chestnut Hill Estates are home to some of the most expensive and private residences in Massachusetts, with sprawling mansions tucked away behind manicured hedges and robust gates. Often owned by CEOs, surgeons, and influential figures in Boston’s finance and real estate sectors, these homes are truly stunning trophies within the broader realm of estates nationally. Scenic Parks & Outdoor Spaces
Brookline is home to many parks that offer a mix of recreational activities, green space, and historic charm. Here’s a couple of our favorite:
- Larz Anderson Park – The largest park in Brookline, Larz Anderson Park offers sweeping views of the Boston skyline, a beautiful pond, picnic areas, walking trails, playing fields and a historic auto museum. In the winter, the park is home to one of the best outdoor skating rinks in the Boston area.
- Olmsted Park – Part of the Emerald Necklace designed by Frederick Law Olmsted, this park features tranquil walking paths, ponds, and lush greenery, making it a perfect escape from city life while still being close to Boston. It’s a favorite for runners, dog walkers, and nature lovers.
- Griggs Park & Amory Park – These neighborhood parks offer playgrounds, sports fields, and open green spaces for community gatherings and relaxation.
- Elliot/Warren Park – A large park with several grass baseball fields, four tennis courts, basketball courts and multiple playground structures. Also the home of Brookline Recreation Department.

The C line makes its way out of Back Bay stopping at St. Mary’s Street, Coolidge Corner and Washington Square before terminating in Cleveland Circle. The D line is a faster, more commuter-friendly line that runs along the old railroad tracks, connecting residents to Riverway, Brookline Village, Longwood Medical Area and on to Newton.
Brookline borders six Boston neighborhoods:
Brighton, Allston, Fenway–Kenmore, Mission Hill, Jamaica Plain, and West Roxbury.
