Pantone 2020 Color of the Year: Classic Blue | By Rachel Bakish

Timeless.  Enduring.  Elegant.

We like to think these words describe us at Columbus & Over Group. They also describe the blue hue known as PANTONE 19-4052, Classic Blue: that happens to be our brand color and Pantone’s color of the year.

For over 20 years, Pantone’s Color of the Year has influenced product development and purchasing decisions in multiple industries, including fashion, home furnishings, and industrial design, as well as product packaging and graphic design. For many, this color could be considered bold, but if you are looking for inspiration we have seen it embraced in a couple of stunning homes across the city.

86 Berkeley Street

Part of a four unit gut renovation condo project in 2018, this pristine, upper floor two bedroom, two bathroom home pops with this striking blue shade. Offering 1,100 square feet of stylized living, stepping into this condo feels like walking into the Jonathan Adler showroom. (Oh yeah, they like this blue too).  These lucky residents in the Golden Triangle also enjoy seamless access to Back Bay while living steps away from many of the South End’s playgrounds, dog parks, restaurants, cafes and bars!

7 Worcester Square

If painting the walls seems too bold, furniture is an easy way to incorporate this shade. These colorful blue couches are quite trendy at the moment – talk about an anchor piece in a living room! Just look at 7 Worcester Square, Unit 3. This blue couch gives a classic, yet whimsical feel to this wonderfully restored Victorian brownstone. Plus, it is sure to make a lasting impression on any buyer looking at this 3 bed, 2.5 bath condo in the Worcester Square Area of the South End.

80 Commonwealth Avenue

Going shopping for a new blue couch too aggressive for your taste?  Adding small accents to your home, like these classic throw pillows, allows PANTONE 19-4052 to give a touch of color to your home without any hassle at all. As you can see in this traditional Back Bay brownstone,  the Classic Blue hue adds to this living room’s traditional elegance while giving off a twist of modern luxury.
