DINE OUT BOSTON: INDULGE IN SUMMER 2019 HIGHLIGHTS | By Rachel Bakish

Twice a year Dine Out Boston, also known as Restaurant Week Boston, allows us to indulge in three course tasting menus at participating restaurants all around the city. The festivities last for two weeks from August 18-23 & 25-30. Here’s a sampling of restaurants in our core coverage areas.

 

Back Bay

Bistro Du Midi, Lower Back Bay
With tables overlooking the Boston Common, Bistro du Midi features French bistro cuisine with coastal New England influences. Visit for lunch or dinner to take part in a multi-course dine-out experience.

Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steakhouse, Prudential
With another notable location in the Seaport, this Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steakhouse opened in Back Bay last year. The Dine Out menu features classics like their Lobster Bisque, Filet Mignon and other favorites. However, there is the option to upgrade to select items like the 16 oz. Prime Ribeye or 45 Day Dry-Aged Prime Strip.

Beacon Hill

No. 9 Park, Front Slope
Enjoy an intimate setting, signature views of the Boston Common, and Chef Barbara Lynch’s refined cuisine for dinner. Their Dine Out menu showcases regionally-inspired Italian and French dishes with an emphasis on simplicity and flavors.

Toscano, Flat of the Hill
Forget the North End. This Tuscan style restaurant, puts Beacon Hill on the map for Italian cuisine. Especially delightful in colder months, this is always a top pick in the middle of Charles Street’s boutiques. They are serving lunch and dinner menus for Dine Out Boston.

Grotto, North Slope
Looking for a more intimate setting? Sink below street level to step into Grotto’s subterranean hideaway. Boasting refined Italian cooking with a notable wine list, this quaint eatery is located right next door to the Victoria Residences which are set to open by January 1, 2020.

Midtown

Pabu, Downtown Crossing
Tucked in on the fourth floor of Millennium Tower, this hip resto feels like the place to be on any night of the week. A modern izakaya + sushi bar by Chef Michael Mina and Ken Tominaga, Pabu is participating with a Dine Out dinner menu this August.

Boston Chops, Downtown Crossing
In 2018, this second location of the acclaimed Boston Chops took the place of the almost forgotten Mantra nightclub. For Dine Out Boston you can enjoy a tasting menu for either lunch or dinner at this central steak house.

Blu, Theater District
Take in city  views through huge glass windows while enjoying excellent service, great food, and the sporty atmosphere at this restaurant next to the Equinox Sports Club inside the Ritz Condominiums in Midtown. Stop by to try the Dine Out tasting menu for either lunch or dinner.

Boston Chops, SoWa
The original location of the urban steak bistro is serving a dinner menu for Dine Out Boston. Pro tip: If you’re in the mood to watch a game, sit at the bar and ask them to turn on the TV. The televisions magically appear out of the bar, but only when asked.

Cinquecento, SoWa
Cinquecento features Roman style cuisine, utilizing simple and fresh ingredients, and boasts a 100% Italian Wine list in the SoWa neighborhood. Plus, if the weather is nice, they have a spectacular patio where you can grab a cocktail al fresco.
